Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 18, 2026

Also see our Terms of Service.

Docusnap (“Docusnap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Simply Tech, LLC.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information when you use the Docusnap website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Docusnap is a browser-based PDF workspace that allows users to upload, view, edit, organize, combine, compress, store, and download PDF documents.

By using Docusnap, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information.

1.1 Account Information

When you create or manage a Docusnap account, we may collect:

  • your email address;
  • your name, if provided;
  • authentication identifiers;
  • login and account-security information;
  • information provided by an authentication provider, such as Google, when you choose to use third-party sign-in.

We do not receive your password from third-party authentication providers.

1.2 Documents and User Content

When you use Docusnap, you may upload PDFs, images, and other supported files.

We may process and store:

  • uploaded PDF files;
  • document names;
  • document versions;
  • text and images contained in documents;
  • edits you make;
  • added text and images;
  • page arrangements;
  • document metadata;
  • thumbnails and previews;
  • temporary processing files;
  • document history;
  • document retention preferences.

We process this content only as necessary to provide and operate Docusnap, maintain your workspace, comply with your instructions, protect the Service, and meet legal obligations.

We do not claim ownership of your documents.

1.3 Password-Protected Documents

Docusnap may allow you to work with password-protected PDFs.

Where supported:

  • the password you provide to unlock a PDF is not intentionally stored as a persistent account credential;
  • protected document versions remain encrypted at rest according to Docusnap's supported encrypted-document workflow;
  • temporary decrypted information may be processed in memory or temporary processing environments where technically necessary to perform an operation;
  • temporary plaintext processing data is intended to be removed when processing is complete.

You are responsible for remembering passwords used to protect your documents.

Docusnap may not be able to recover a PDF password that you lose.

1.4 Usage Information

We may collect information about how the Service is used, including:

  • documents created;
  • pages processed;
  • file sizes;
  • storage consumption;
  • compression operations;
  • combine operations;
  • processing jobs;
  • feature usage;
  • subscription-plan usage;
  • dates and times of activity;
  • errors and failed operations.

We use this information to operate the Service, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, improve performance, and understand product usage.

1.5 Device and Technical Information

When you use Docusnap, we may automatically receive technical information such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • operating system;
  • device type;
  • referring URL;
  • session identifiers;
  • authentication-session information;
  • timestamps;
  • error and diagnostic information.

We may also use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where necessary for authentication, security, user preferences, and operation of the Service.

We use PostHog to understand how people find and use Docusnap — for example, which search landing pages lead to a successful text edit, a second operation on the same document, or a later upgrade. This may use first-party cookies or local storage. We do not use PostHog to show you third-party advertisements.

We use the Google Ads tag (gtag) to measure whether a visit from a Google Ad led to creating a Docusnap workspace. Google may set advertising or measurement cookies for that purpose. We do not use this tag to show third-party ads inside Docusnap.

Where required, we may provide additional notice or consent controls for non-essential analytics or advertising cookies.

1.6 Billing Information

Paid subscriptions are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe.

Stripe may collect payment information directly from you, such as:

  • payment-card information;
  • billing address;
  • payment method;
  • transaction information.

Docusnap does not need to store your complete payment-card number in order to provide the Service.

We may receive and store information related to your Stripe relationship, such as:

  • Stripe customer identifier;
  • subscription identifier;
  • subscription status;
  • plan;
  • billing period;
  • payment status;
  • invoice or transaction references.

Stripe's processing of your personal information is governed by Stripe's own privacy terms.

We do not use your document contents for unrelated advertising.

We do not sell your uploaded PDFs.

3. How We Share Information

We may share information only as reasonably necessary to operate Docusnap or as otherwise described in this Policy.

3.1 Service Providers

We use third-party providers to operate portions of the Service.

These may include providers for:

  • authentication;
  • databases;
  • file storage;
  • hosting;
  • infrastructure;
  • email;
  • monitoring;
  • customer support;
  • payment processing.

For example, Docusnap may use:

  • Supabase for authentication, databases, and file storage;

These providers may process information on our behalf subject to their contractual and legal obligations.

3.3 Business Transfers

If Docusnap or Simply Tech, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Any successor would remain subject to applicable privacy obligations regarding the information it receives.

4. Document Privacy

Documents stored in Docusnap are intended to be private to the authorized Workspace by default.

Docusnap does not intentionally make your documents publicly accessible merely because you upload them.

You should nevertheless avoid uploading information you do not have the right or authority to process.

You are responsible for determining whether Docusnap is appropriate for the confidentiality, regulatory, or contractual requirements applicable to your documents.

5. Document Retention

Docusnap may allow you to select how long a Document should remain stored.

Available retention choices may depend on the features and plan currently offered.

Depending on your settings, a Document may be:

  • retained until you delete it;
  • retained for a defined period;
  • scheduled for deletion after a particular workflow or event.

When a Document reaches its applicable retention deadline, Docusnap may permanently destroy the Document and associated content.

Retention may include deletion of:

  • the original PDF;
  • current and historical Versions;
  • Working State;
  • document operations;
  • previews;
  • thumbnails;
  • related durable processing artifacts.

Some limited operational records may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or accounting.

6. Deleting Documents

When Docusnap represents an action as permanent deletion, the deleted Document is not intended to remain available through a user-accessible Trash or recovery feature.

Deletion may remove the Document's:

  • Original;
  • Current Version;
  • historical Versions;
  • Working State;
  • associated stored content.

Backups, logs, billing records, or legally required records may persist for a limited period where technically or legally necessary.

7. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Docusnap account through supported account controls or by contacting us.

For a personal Docusnap Workspace, account deletion may result in deletion of:

  • your Workspace;
  • documents owned by that Workspace;
  • stored document versions;
  • associated Workspace content;
  • your active Docusnap subscription relationship.

Certain information may be retained when required for:

  • tax or accounting;
  • fraud prevention;
  • security;
  • resolving disputes;
  • enforcing agreements;
  • complying with law.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information.

These measures may include:

  • encrypted network connections;
  • authentication;
  • access controls;
  • private storage;
  • restricted service credentials;
  • isolation between Workspaces;
  • encrypted handling of supported password-protected PDFs;
  • limited access to production systems.

However, no Internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for using appropriate passwords for protected documents.

9. Payments

Payment processing is provided by Stripe or another payment provider identified during checkout.

Payment providers may independently collect and process information necessary to complete transactions, prevent fraud, comply with financial regulations, and administer payment methods.

Docusnap may receive payment and subscription status information but does not need to receive or store your full card number.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for:

  • providing the Service;
  • maintaining your account;
  • fulfilling the document-retention preferences you select;
  • maintaining billing records;
  • protecting the Service;
  • resolving disputes;
  • enforcing agreements;
  • meeting legal obligations.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

11. International Processing

Docusnap and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will use legally recognized mechanisms as appropriate to our operations.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:

  • request access;
  • request correction;

Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices that are outside our control.
